Hi Jorn,
I just installed and tried 0.52.7 and as expected everything works well...
In fact on Ubuntu 6.10 I am seeing the same behaviour I saw on my old
Mandriva 2005, where 0.52.7 works perfectly and 0.98.1 hangs on tccat.
My PC is an old Athlon 900 Mhz, so nothing special here...
ghost@ubuntu:~/Video-DVDRip-0.52.7$ cat /proc/cpuinfo

Please let me know if you need any other information...
As I already said executing the exact transcode commands seen in "Show
transcode commands" (in particular the "Grab preview") gives me no
problems at all.
Thanks
Davide

Hi Davide,
If everything works well with 0.52, I will install Ubunty Edgy somewhere
to be able to reproduce this.
I just upgraded my notebook to Ubuntu 6.10 and installed dvd::rip
0.98.1, transcode & friends from the official repositories. For me
everything works as expected (preview grabbing, transcoding, with
ripping and on the fly).
Which is your architecture? My notebook is a quite old Pentium III
system, probably this issue is architecture related. On my workstation
(Athlon 64 X2) I'm using Debian sid, i386 arch.
Probably the dvd::rip 0.52 vs. 0.98 test gives us more details to debug
on, I'm waiting on your input ;)
Regards,
Joern
