Re: [dvd::rip] 2.0KB avi file after rip/transcode?

Didn't work. I guess it's safe to assume that either dvd::rip just isn't going to work for me, or Batman Begins is one of those .5%. Go figure. :)

transcode fails to handle about 0.5% of all DVDs.
It's not a bug and it's not your fault.
There are many different reasons:
  copy protection: - RCE protection
                   - Structural copy protection
                   - Bad sector protection
  CRC errors because of bad DVD-mastering
  scratched or otherwise damaged DVDs

The meaning of all the options is described in the man-page.
- -H 0 means : don't auto-probe.
If it does not work:
  - add an increasing debuglevel to the command line and watch for error messages.
  - watch /var/log/messages during the rip   (tail -f /var/log/messages)
  - update the firmware of your DVD-drive or try another DVD-drive
  - rip the vobfiles with  mplayer dvd://1 -dumpstream
  ....
