[dvd::rip] 2.0KB avi file after rip/transcode?

Anyone end up with a 2.0KB avi file after the rip/transcode process is finished? I'm using xvid4 (or xvid) as the codec. I've tried starting at frame 25 or 250 per a previous poster's issue, but that didn't work. This file also doesn't play in mplayer, totem, or xine. It says the codec is missing. I have all the w32codecs installed. What type of a problem does this show?

Running SUSE, latest version of dvd::rip, all dependencies installed.
